EAPS

 

The Euro Alliance of Payment Schemes (EAPS) is the initiative adopted by domestic schemes, representing around 52% of card payments at European level, with the aim of promoting Pan-European deployment of the success of domestic debit schemes.

This new scheme will permit:
- Pan-European withdrawal and payment with the same convenience and ease of use as in the related national context.

Current members of EAPS:
- Germany with ZKA

- UK with Link

- Netherlands, Northern Europe and France with Eurfiserv

- Spain with Euro 6000

- Portugal with SIBS
- Italy with the Consorzio BANCOMAT

EAPS is a “scheme of schemes” in which each member undertakes to accept the cards of other members according to the guidelines of the SEPA Card Framework, the requirements of EU Authorities and EMV standards.

SEPA

The aim of SEPA is to create a fully harmonised European payments area that provides common payment solutions (credit transfer, direct debit and debit cards) that permit the same level of convenience and safety as in the related national contex.

SECURITY (UCAMP)

The system is based on exchange of information that allows the banks to identify – through cross-checking, sharing and online consultation of the data in the database – any type of irregular (or fraudulent) behaviour.
